Assault weapon usedAn 11th grader despondent about his grades brought an AK-47 to the school, fired high into a wall in a hallway to frighten other students, and then shot himself to death. The suicide followed an argument with his parents the night before about falling grades. According to Michael Delaurentis, 18 a witness and senior attending the school, the student was a "nice kid" and Delaurentis's father described the student's family as "wonderful."
