Gerald Davison was riding in a car with other people along Alta Drive, near Palo Verde High School. They pulled up alongside Christopher Privett, who was walking with three others. Davison opened fire at the group, striking Privett, who was leaving campus about 20 minutes after classes ended. No words were exchanged prior to the gunshots. Detectives have found no gang connections among anyone involved. "My sympathies go out to the family of the boy who was killed -- that is so terrible -- but I can't believe my brother did it," said Davison's 18-year-old sister, Alaya Brooks, who wants to study criminal justice in college. Barbara Privett recalled what she and her husband were told before they bought their home in Summerlin seven years ago: It's the ideal neighborhood in which to raise a family.
