Jose Carranza, 28, and a 15-year-old male, who was not identified because of his age, performed brutal execution-style shootings at a Newark elementary school. Four friends, aged 18-20, were hanging out behind Mount Vernon School in Newark's Ivy Hill on a Saturday night when a group of about five others approached them and tried to rob them. Three of the victims were forced to kneel against a wall behind the elementary school and were shot to death at close range. All were from Newark and planned to attend Delaware State University later in the fall. "They were good kids," Essex County Prosecutor Paul Dow said.
