The mayor of Country Club Hills helped arrest two people suspected in a shooting after a basketball game at Hillcrest High School. A Hillcrest High student, 15, was hit in the arm. The incident began about 9:30 p.m. as people left the school after a basketball game, said town spokeswoman Wanda Comein. She said Country Club Hills Mayor Dwight Welch, who is a former police officer, and Police Lt. Will Garrison spotted a car matching a description of the gunmen's vehicle. The mayor and lieutenant arrested two men at the scene and recovered a weapon from the car, she said. It did not appear the offenders knew the young man they shot. Learn More (encyclopedia.com)
